Christmas Cards!!

Roost and I have been working on Christmas cards! So I have used her name in most of the card designs. As always, they are very easy to add pics or change colors. You can even change the fonts or the wording! We know a good printing place so ask us about a good deal for printing the Christmas cards!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween!

Peach and Vintage

We haven't posted any new designs for wedding invites lately so we decided we need to do better. Les and I are in love with peaches so I used her name in the idea.

I recently came back from the Washington D.C. area where there were TONS of really cool vintage shops. It was amazing. So as I have been browsing for new ideas, I came upon some cool free downloads.  This design is based around some cool vintage images.

Watermark and new prints!

We have our watermark!

Roost and I want to start doing more LDS and inspirational quotes along with nursery rhymes, poems, and song lyrics. They could make nice prints in a living, family, or bed room. It is fun and uplifting to research and find new quotes. It is pretty challenging matching them with a good image or background, hence only one done so far....
I helped designed T-shirts for my city softball team. "Serenity Now" comes from a Seinfield episode.

I saw some prints with balloons and an animal and I did my own take on it. I am going to post more animals as I get them done. The more balloons for the heavier the animal right? Roost thinks the snake one is almost scary but the teeth can easily be removed. I think she looks happy :)

Apple and stars

I have been seeing ideas for little framed prints to be hung in bedrooms and around the house. Les gave me the idea for doing an apple because it comes from a line of one of her wedding songs. So I used this graphic design app called Pixelmator and made the shapes of an apple and the stars in the background and used GIMP to give them color. I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

I have a very inspirational brother-in-law who had cancer and this quote reminds me of him. He got bracelets made like Lance Armstrong's yellow bracelets and it had this quote on them. So I darkened the sky and added the little stars by hand. My brother-in-law is the happiest guy you would ever meet and just graduated dental school! We are really proud of him.

I would love more ideas for prints and announcements! Please let me know if you have any!

Fancy

Roost and I see lots of new different kind of invites but you can never go wrong with a simple, classic one.

 Back-

I kind of enjoy making up names and places for people to get married and where the receptions will be. I always have the same date though. :)

That White Dress

As my first real post on here, there's just one thing you need to know: I love weddings with my whole soul and it has reached a new level of adoration now that we have a blog almost dedicated to it. As Sara alluded in the first post, I get wedding magazines for Christmas and birthdays. This started my freshman year when my roommate/BFF to the F MJ and I bought our first wedding magazine; we've exchanged magazines for our birthdays ever since.

For most of the people looking at our site, you're most likely looking at it because you're either related to us or want high quality design for your invites that won't take up your whole wedding budget. Along with us doing invites, we also want to help with other aspects of weddings. The one detail that is always my favorite to look for is wedding dresses. When I was looking for my wedding dress, I wasn't really sure where to look. I went to a couple bridal boutiques, tried on beautiful gowns, but I soon realized my taste exceeded the money in my pocket (cue that Adele song). I mean, why not get the wedding dress I wanted and not sacrifice what I had dreamed of as a little girl? After a little thought, I found my answer: pre-owned wedding dresses.

The lucky thing about being in a huge family in that you learn how to improvise. That brings us to our older sister Ame; she's a thrift store and garage sale queen. Honestly, I can point out all the things she has bought me secondhand over the years and those items are the ones that I get the most compliments on. So when I was looking for my wedding dress, Ame referred me to www.oncewed.com. Hands down, one of the best sites to use for finding a gown. It allows you to tailor your search for a specific designer, price range, size, etc. I found my J Crew Cecelia dress marked down from $600 to $180! I barely had to alter it; my aunt just adjusted the sleeves and added lace to them. Here it is in all its glory!

Man, my husband is smokin'

Here are some other sites to help you in your search:
Just remember, keep looking! Don't get discouraged that you won't be able to find it; just keep searching. You will find the dress you love at a price that fits your budget.

And now, some of my favorite gowns right now...

Phase Eight Carolina Wedding Dress

This is both mine and Sare's favoritest,
hopefully something like this for her wedding

IMC wedding gown, the flow of this just kills me

Peter pan collar and sparkle, need I say more

Fox's Story

With the help of my sister Leslie, we can offer very reasonable, high quality designs and products that I know you will love!  We love designing wedding invitations and any other invite you could possibly think of. Here is some background that will help you understand our love of everything wedding.

Growing up, our mom would help with the occasional wedding and with six girls in the house, there was a lot of weddings to plan for and time for us to imagine what our dream wedding would be like. Leslie is the biggest culprit; she's been married for more than two years, but she still looks up wedding ideas on Pinterest and receives wedding magazines for her birthday.

The two of us still send many emails back and forth outlining what kind of wedding dresses we love, bridal hair, invitations, decorations, the whole shebang! We enjoy critiquing and planning for my wedding day (I'm almost done-all I need is the groom :) ) Being the last kid of nine siblings to get married can be kind of rough, but let's be honest, they saved the best for last.

Here is my family in March when my little sister Mary got married. Leslie's husband was out of town and I'm right next to her holding my nephew.

As I mentioned above, my sister and I have always been excited when it comes to weddings. There are times when all 6 of my sisters would email and comment about a particular wedding dress or reception decor. When Mary got engaged, I went to work trying to design shower invitations.

We started with Microsoft Word. I knew I needed something different though; when you want to print invitations, one will see you can't get the best resolution with .doc or .docx, so I downloaded the trial of Adobe Photoshop. It was a big time of trial and error-Google was my best friend when I had to figure out how to do something. I made several invitation ideas and I ended up making an invitation from some we saw online. Minted. com is a treasure trove of ideas and simply awesome. Working night shifts as a nurse, I would stay up the night before to prepare and just design and learn new things.

Here is my sister's invite:

I was learning and now can definitely see things I can improve on, but it was my first real one. I have learned quickly how to use the tools to smooth out the process, but alas, my trial was coming to an end. So that is when I downloaded GIMP, and it has really worked for me. You can download it for free here.  With the tutorials online and by using Google quite a bit, I'm really starting to get faster and more efficient. And I am also LOVING it!

Leslie has this amazing eye and she can tell me when something looks good or not. She is not afraid to be honest, so it works out well. I can be designing and working on invitations and hours will fly by. That's when we decided since we spend so much time doing it, we might as well help others in the process.

When my brother-in-law's sister got engaged, she asked us to make her invitations. We had so much fun designing and figuring out what the bride and groom wanted. It's an amazing thing to have them tell you exactly what they want, and then you can customizing it to their exact specifications. The possibilities are endless and we work hard at bringing to life whatever you have in mind for an invite.

Here is one of their first designs, names changed.

Here is a back I designed. You can put in monogram, an image or just keep it blank.
One of the best things about doing invitations is that there is a site that one is able to print out the invitations at very reasonable prices. It is so fun to see people get excited about a customized invitation and not have to break the bank. That's why my sister and I want to help design invitations and print them at an affordable cost. That way you can splurge on your photographer or venue, but still get classy, professional invitations. We are adding more designs to the site and will include pricing.

Oh, and before you think all we can do is wedding invites,  we also can do: graduation and birth announcements, customized and personal decorative posters, Christmas cards, anything your heart desires. Just email us and ask.

Designed this for my dad and his dad who served in the Marines. God bless the USA.
